Online Slots in Ontario

Yes, you can. According to iGaming Ontario, you need to have reached age 19 and be located within Ontario at the moment you bet. Living in Ontario while you're away somewhere else doesn't count.

OLG.ca is legal too, even though it doesn't appear in the directory, since OLG operates it themselves. A slot site that shows up in neither place has no Ontario regulation. Two examples are Unibet and Rivalry, neither of which appears in the directory.

You'll find 84 gambling sites in the directory, run by 49 companies, with 74 of them carrying casino games. Sites are sorted by category instead of by game, which is why slots fall under casino. The directory doesn't say which slot titles a given site has.

A number of companies operate several sites. Apollo Entertainment Ltd operates the most, with 7 in all, and its brands include Zodiac Casino, Yukon Gold Casino, Luxury Casino, Grand Mondial, Golden Tiger, Casino Classic and Captain Cooks Casino. When you know who owns a site, it's easier to spot two differently named sites that belong to one business.

Among the 74 casino sites, 42 carry casino games and nothing else. The rest also take sports bets or offer poker or bingo.

What we show is the directory's own list. There are no offers or sign-up deals here, and no site can pay to rank higher.

Out of the 84 sites the directory covers, 74 offer an app through the Canadian App Store or Google Play. That works out to 70 apps for iPhone and 52 for Android, with plenty available on both. The others run right in your phone's web browser, meaning there's nothing to download.

The AGCO is the provincial body in charge of gambling rules, and its game design standards cover slots on all regulated sites.

• No auto-play, meaning you press the button for every spin.
• A pause of at least 2.5 seconds between spins.
• No turbo, quick-spin or slam-stop features that make results come faster.
• No playing more than one slot at once.
• Your net position appears on screen in Canadian dollars.

Net position means your winnings minus your losses over the session. Having it visible helps you know where you stand before choosing to play on.

Once a session gets going, slots can be tough to walk away from, and help is there for anyone who feels that. The service is free and confidential.
